About Passion Witch

Passion Witch is a garden for curious people. It grew from a question: What helps a human being come alive?
There probably isn't one answer. And maybe that's part of the problem with systems that keep trying to give us one. Passion Witch imagines a more participatory way of thinking about health and wellness—one in which people are not simply problems to be diagnosed, fixed, optimized, or sold solutions, but active participants in understanding their own lives.
We believe expertise matters. So does evidence. And so do story, relationship, creativity, pleasure, embodiment, community, meaning, and the strange intelligence of paying attention to your own experience. We are interested in healers who can offer what they know without pretending to know everything. We are interested in people learning to trust themselves without believing they have to figure everything out alone. And we're interested in forms of exchange that allow good work to sustain the people who make it, while leaving room for generosity, accessibility, reciprocity, and care.
Not healer over healed. Not expert over human. Not giver emptied out for receiver.
Something more reciprocal. A garden, perhaps. Everyone arrives with something to learn. Everyone arrives with something to offer.
So what grows here?
Conversations with people who followed their curiosity somewhere interesting.
Stories about love, bodies, grief, sex, work, medicine, spirituality, creativity, and the strange business of being a person.
Spells for experimenting with your own life.
Introductions to healers whose ways of seeing might help you understand something differently.
Objects made with story, intention, humor, and love.
And gatherings where we can practice some of this together, in actual rooms, with actual humans.
You don't have to believe what we believe. In fact, we're not entirely sure what we'll believe next year. Passion Witch isn't here to tell you what to believe. We're interested in what becomes possible when you stay curious.
A little about the witch
Hi. I'm Emily.
I'm a writer, pharmacist, interviewer, energy healer, and lifelong collector of questions.
Passion Witch grew partly from things I love—and partly from things I could no longer make myself comfortable with.
After years working in healthcare, I became increasingly troubled by systems that ask extraordinary things of both the people seeking care and the people providing it. I knew what it was like to be exhausted by work I had once found meaningful, and I began wondering what happens when our systems become very good at keeping people functioning without leaving much room to ask what makes a life worth functioning for.
At the same time, I was becoming uncomfortable with a larger economic story that seemed to offer the same prescription for almost everything: work more, produce more, consume more, repeat.
I don't know what the alternative looks like. Passion Witch is one place I'm trying to imagine it.
What if health were about more than the absence of illness?
What if meaningful work didn't require us to exhaust ourselves?
What if healers could be supported without turning every act of care into a transaction?
What if money could circulate alongside generosity, reciprocity, knowledge, creativity, and community?
What if we made things because they were beautiful or useful or funny or helped somebody feel less alone—and trusted that not everything valuable needed to become maximally profitable?
I've spent much of my life moving between worlds that aren't always invited to sit at the same table: science and spirituality, medicine and story, skepticism and wonder, evidence and mystery.
Passion Witch is where I let them have dinner together.
I don't have a blueprint for a better world. I'm suspicious of anyone who says they do. This is an experiment. A digital garden where we can tell stories, meet interesting people, try things, make things, support one another's work, gather in real rooms, and wonder together about what a more alive way of living might look like.
I make much of what you'll find here, but Passion Witch isn't meant to be a monument to me. It's one small attempt to practice the world I'd like to live in.
