The Uncommon Table: End-of-Life Care (Virtual)

A conversation series put on by my dear friend, Kristen Bedrick:

The Uncommon Table.

It's a place to bring people from different areas of care together, share perspectives, ask questions, and explore health and well-being through more than one lens.

And for our very first conversation, we're talking about something that eventually touches every one of us: end-of-life care.

Whether you join thinking about your own life, someone you love, your work, or simply because you're curious, there's a seat at the table for you.

Maybe you’ve wondered…

  • What actually happens to our physical body as we die?

  • What might we experience spiritually during or after the dying process?

  • How can we better prepare for our own end-of-life wishes?

  • What support is available for caregivers, for grief, and for the people we love?

These are big questions, and ones we don't always have the opportunity (or feel comfortable enough) to talk about.

That's exactly why I wanted to create this conversation.

I'll be joined by an amazing group of palliative care physician and death doulas who will share their expertise, experiences, resources, and perspectives. And you'll have the opportunity to bring your questions and experiences to the table too.

There isn't one "right" way to think about death or navigate this stage of life. My hope is simply to create space for us to be curious, hear from one another, and perhaps walk away thinking or feeling a little differently than when we arrived.

Through my own experiences, I've seen that this stage of life can hold so much more than fear and loss. There can also be contentment, peace, connection, meaning, and even beauty.
